i havent seen the whole plant give out berries in over 6 years. usually it jsut gives out flowers every year but no berries. the plant is HUGE, it grew on the fence, like vines on the fence. the leaves look like ivy xept its not becuz there is an ivy plant next to it and the leves are a differnt shape.
Are these berries edible? i want some?
how's about elderberry?...

but I do agree with the others, take some to the County Extension office to be sure..... if those are on the bush now, there's something wrong, as the birds should have picked it clean by now.....
Reply:Until you know what it is for show? Do not eat! As the other person said; take a piece to your extentsion agent or local nursury.
Reply:Can't really tell.Take a piece of it to your local county extension agent, find 'em in the phone book.
Reply:It's hard to tell from your picture - but it looks like it could be Deadly Nightshade. Definitely not something you want to eat.
Unless you can positively identify something, you should treat as if it's not edible. Take a branch with berries to your local garden center or county extension if you're really curious.
Reply:Too hard to tell. Take a picture with them further back, and even better if you can have a person in there for perspective so we can see hwo large the plant and berries are in relation to a person. Also, where are you located? Must be somewhere fairly warm if you have berries this time of year!
Reply:no. that is Hedera helix English Ivy the mature leaves are not lobed like the juvenile leaves
Reply:To paraphrase an old European mycology adage; "All berries are edible, but some only once!"
Reply:looks like hedera berries,
not typical hedera helix.....but similar hedera hibernica
no don't eat them
Reply:It looks like Vaccinum corymbosum, the american blueberry, edible fruits, not 100 percent sure due to photo quality.
